‘IT’S ALL ABOUT CHANGE’

A new year brings change, new teachers and students and parents to our school community. Opportunities  to adopt new ideas and strategies into our learning and teaching. Change is universal and inevitable and our children are growing up in a world in which the pace of change is accelerating phenomenally.

The Performing Arts are a both a reflector and instigator of change and incredibly important in the holistic education of our students. It is a platform for experimenting with ideas and exploring expressiveness and emotions. Most importantly it is crucial in building personal and social capabilities as the children work together, collaborating and problem solving as they create and perform their art works; acting, singing, dancing and playing their instruments.

HOW IS IT CHANGING?

That is the key question we have been thinking about in the music room so far this year.

How can we make our voice change to make it more expressive ? What about if we try going faster or slower when we are performing our dance moves or singing our songs. Does it mean or look the same or have the same emotion?

As we head into these and future  holidays I also encourage you to consider the wonderful opportunities for workshops and arts related events available to our children in the CBD.
